Nakamichi BX-150 - Resurrection - Idle Wheel Resurface I was starting to prep for a new project, taking .TAP files for the Commodore and converting them back to tape for use in the C2N drives. I'm not sure if this idea will ever surface, but when I first attempted to copy the audio files over I found that my beloved tape deck was ... non-operational. Since it was working just a few months ago ... Well, to be completely honest it wasn't working that well even then, but it was usable. So, I figured that it had to be something fairly simple and likely on the mechanical side of things. I'd never had this particular unit apart, so I was assuming that it was a belt that needed replacing. What I found was simpler than that. Come along as we discover the true nature of the issue and get it working again. Don't panic, I've done this sort of work before as a recording engineer.
