Elias Pettersson, the Canucks’ star center, has an incredible shot—no doubt—but he isn’t scoring nearly as many goals if Hughes’ passing were off by just a few inches either way. Rarely is that the case. His precision is uncanny, absurd even. In an unprecedently crowded field full of talented young defensemen, Quinn Hughes, at only 22 years of age, is cementing himself at the forefront of the offensive defenseman revolution. Will he win a Norris trophy as the league’s best defenseman?
