In depth KSGER T12 soldering station review covering version 3.1S vs 2.1S, iron handles, build quality, menu setup, operation, and look inside. The KSGER T12 soldering station (version 2.1S) has been one of my favorite soldering tools and remains to be in 2022, so it should come as no surprise that I enthusiastically recommend them. Once you solder with direct drive cartridge technology solder tips regardless of brand, they quickly spoil a person. After getting numerous questions about the newer KSGER 3.1S version, I decided to get one to answers these questions. I too was curious... The 3.1S version is very similar to the 2.1S and I certainly wouldn't be running out to get the 3.1 if you already have a 2.1. I actually like the 2.1S version better. The newer 3.1S version has a few different setup menus, comes with 3 direct drive soldering tips (D24, ILS & K), preset heat memory locations, and you can choose between 6 different soldering iron handle options. This makes the $65 USD 3.1S version a slightly better value in my opinion for people who what handle options with their T12 station. The KSGER 2.1S soldering station is still a wonderful choice and when it's on sale in the $40 USD range, you simply can't beat that value. Considering both these KSGER direct drive technology soldering stations compete performance wise with the Hakko FX951 (about $300) while having more customizable settings; bang for the buck and overall awesome soldering performance of both is hard to ignore.
