In Italia, lo stile Electro Swing nasce da un'idea della band Jazzbit Jazbeat con il remix del brano famosissimo "Sing sing sing" poi ripreso da nel 2010 da Yolanda be cool e da un remix del brano " It don't mean a thing" della band Gabin che hanno aperto la strada alle molteplici band europee come i Caravan Palace e Parov Stelar, a seguire gli Algorhytmik, i Deluxe e Odjbox (il cui Electro Swing si fa molto alla musica gitana) e da DJ come ProleteR o Kormac.
