Video Giới Thiệu BÁNH MÌ VIỆT NAM Song ngữ Anh - Việt • Nguồn thông tin: Tổng hợp • Nguồn video: Tổng hợp • Biên soạn & Âm thanh: TSES-English&Books When it comes to Vietnamese cuisine, one of the first images that appear in most people’s minds is banh mi. Banh mi is not only the most rustic dish with locals for early breakfast but is also remarked as one of the top 10 best sandwiches and attracts many visitors from all over the world. Banh mi is a delicate dish of combination between the culture and cuisine of the East and the West. Under French domination, they introduced baguettes into Vietnam and greatly influenced Vietnamese cuisine. However, Banh mi became more prevalent in our country after ending the French war in 1954 when the locals created a unique bread stuffed with pork meat, herbs, and cucumber, embodying Vietnamese food. Later, after the Vietnam war in 1975, Southern people moved to America, Europe, and Australia, which helped spread Banh mi's popularity to the world. Banh Mi has indeed grown up in the childhood of Vietnamese people. Certainly, as a child, every morning, their mom often gave them some money to buy bread for breakfast. At that time, even children or adults really liked the taste of small pieces of bread dipping into cow condensed milk, which probably seemed to interest every child at an early age. Banh mi is considered a breakfast staple for many, but it can be eaten as a midday snack or for dinner as well. The fillings are pretty diverse, consisting of different meat and veggies. Back in the day, ham and pork liver pâté were the only toppings. But nowadays, you’ll find options such as grilled pork, fish sausages, dried shredded chicken, pickled veggies, and even canned fish! The choices are endless. The baguette itself is crispy; inside the bread, it looks like opening the whole world of flavors when all spices and ingredients melt in your mouth and hearing the sounds of crispy toasted crust seems to wake up every taste of the eater. Each bite of banh mi is a small piece contributing to building a big picture of bread, reflecting particular traits of the unique cuisine of Vietnam. Depending on the number of fillings you want, the price can range from VND15,000-30,000. Not only the locals and regular tourists visit Vietnam to fall in love with Banh mi but also top famous chefs and bloggers such as Anthony Bourdain when he traveled to Hoi An in the center of Vietnam. He was one of the foreign cooks obsessed with Vietnamese cuisine and spent lots of time studying food. From a humble beginning, banh mi has earned global recognition and become one of the iconic dishes of Vietnam. Although there have been many innovative versions of the traditional banh mi, you can probably find it anywhere in the world. So if you ever consider visiting Vietnam, it’s the quintessential dish you might not want to miss.
