1941 Guiberson T1020 Diesel engine, it was an airplane engine that ended up in armored vehicles. There were very few built (less than 2 thousand), 1538 engines ended up in some kind of armored vehicle. 1285 M3 Stuart tanks were sold to the British on the lend/lease program, who actually used them in North Africa. Everything that remained after the war was scrapped. It is 9 cylinders and 1021 cubic inch displacement. The original Breeze starter (explosive style) was replaced with an electric inertia starter from a 3350 Curtis Wright radial engine. The engine has a compression release which makes it easy to make sure the cylinders are clear of oil. The noise the engine makes and the smoke produced is horrendous! Excuse the belly scratch, damn mosquitoes!
