Hi all, welcome to my Oldschool Runescape "AHKIM Series". An AutoHotkey Ironman series in Oldschool Runescape where I am only allowed to use self written AHK scripts. Exceptions: -Bossing -Minigames -Questing -Running around -Minor tasks that take a handful of minutes. Come with me on the journey to learn how to use AHK in OSRS so you can skip a few ridiculous grinds that are between you and portions of the game that you really enjoy playing. What you will NOT find here: - RWT related content - Ways to make IRL money through AHK or botting - Content of someone manually grinding 12 hours per day. Jagex will try and ban my account and they will eventually be successful. Simply because the higher the total lvl, the easier it will be traceable with stats and all the small infos that are inevitably dropped with every video. The question therefore is not IF, but rather WHEN will I be banned and how far can we come? Since I am documenting the entire journey, it is very likely that Jagex will find my account and ban it. However, until then, feel free to learn from how I do it. The core idea of this series is to find out how many people are actually interested in AHK scriptwriting in order to advance in OSRS. IF there is a lot of people that share this interest of mine, then I assume it is good evidence for Jagex to release a solution for this problem that (presumably) lots of people share. IF there aren't many people interested in this stuff, then I guess there is nothing to worry about for the main OSRS playerbase. But IF there are lots of people interested in this kind of content, then I assume that there is already a problem at hand and whether or not I share this information doesn't change the situation that people have a dissatisfaction with the game itself. In which case, I would use this channel to try and find a solution together with the audience of this channel and communicate that solution to Jagex. Fair? Other than that, to those who share the interest of using AHK...hope you find this helpful and please leave feedback/questions/suggestions or even harsh criticism but preferably constructive. So I can actually do something about it. This is the first episode of the AHKIM series. The goal of this episode (besides figuring out the video editing aspects & how I shall go about structuring and present the information) is to write a fishing script and then let it run till fishing lvl 15. And IF a script breaks, then it would be to repair it within the episode until it brings me to the goal. Rules to not get banned: - Try not to do it for too many hours per day (12+ hours every day is not recommendable. BUT can work if done for a few weeks in a row as long as its below 18 hours and as long as you switch tasks) - Try switching tasks. Ideally dont do one and only task for 12+ hours per day until lvl 99 while all other stats are low. That worked a few times. But once it burned me. - NEVER allow your script to let your character run around randomly. Instead, build in some fail-saves and auto-logout functions and make sure they work. - NEVER let a brand new script run over night while you are sleeping or outside or at work. Instead, gradually make sure that it runs flawlessly while spending the first hours next to the PC and looking at it every once in a while. Increase the absense time gradually until you know that it doesnt really break. Only then use it while you are outside or asleep. - Try not to do inhumanely efficient tasks. I am not talking click speed. I am talking primarily xp gain/hr. Like for example cleaning herbs with AHK. You get inhumane xp/hr for that task. Not good. - Best practise: Use a VPN. Just in case. You don't want to burn your main acc because of a sideproject. - First, use scripts only on sideaccounts. Not even the same jagex acc. Rather a completely different one. Make sure it's working there before you try out fancy stuff on your main.
