1985 Film NEEDED the PERFECT Song For ICONIC Scene...UNDERDOG Singer KILLED IT!! | Professor Of Rock

Whenever anyone talk about the greatest movie soundtrack of the 80s you hear the usual suspects… Top Gun, Footloose, some might say Dirty Dancing.. or any of the soundtracks from John Hughes films from Some Kind of Wonderful to the Breakfast Club to Pretty In Pink… but the soundtrack to Rocky IV is worthy of consideration... Up next I talk to several artist who participated the franchise defining film soundtrack. Eye of the Tiger was great but Rocky IV was a better overall soundtrack album with Burning Heart by Survivor, No Easy Way Out by Robert Tepper and of course Hearts on Fire by John Cafferty of the Beaver Brown Band!. Sylvester Stallone flew John Cafferty down to where he was filming Rambo First Blood part 2 and dressing full Rambo garb asked John to sing the song that would go over the 80s greatest movie montage. He was a big fan of John’s work from Eddie and the Cruisers… and so it was that he recorded the legendary song played at the end of Rocky IV and it wouldn’t be a stretch to say the song stopped the Cold War.. Ok I’m being funny now. Here is the definitive story of the Rocky IV soundtrack with interviews with John Cafferty and Jim Peterik of Survivor who co-wrote Burning Heart that went to #2… it’s an 80s marathon coming up… To Order the new JOHN CAFFERTY album click here: https://a.co/d/hc3iQGV or from the label website: https://iconoclassicrecords.com/album... So today I”m doing. it. I’m going to call it soundtrack the stories behind the greatest movie music of all time. In the past we’ve covered Ferris Bueller’s Day off and then Top Gun where we have the actual artist take us through the music. Well today we’re covering the music behind one the 80s greatest sequels. One fo the highest growing movies of 1985 into 1986 Rocky IV. It was just barely name checked in the latest season of Cobra Kai when Johnny Lawrence and Daniel Larusso are trying to get their karate students into the international tournament. Johnny and Daniel don’t have all of the high tech equipment that their competition the pony tailed villain Terry Silver has so they use unorthodox methods just like Miyagi did before. .. As their team tries out in front of the judges Johnny Explains their style…. I love that part. I was watching it with my 14 year old and we were high fiving we loved it so much... I love that scene. Truly that Montage Scene is the greatest in movies history. Everyone tried to copy it after but no on has equaled it. The song helps make that training montage scene.. Every 80s kid knows it by heart. which is appropriately titled Hearts on Fire by king of the bar bands mr. John Cafferty.
