‪@moonhooch‬ live at The Drake in Amherst, MA on March 14, 2024. Moon Hooch is always a blast live, and is best enjoyed in a small club with low ceilings and poor ventilation; there's just something about the intimate atmosphere and energy they bring to a show in this setting. The audio and lighting at The Drake are a bit lacking (light quality shows through even more in video than it does in person), but with being so close to the stage and performers we got a lot more of the instruments themselves which helps fill things out a bit. They were having some tech challenges onstage with vocal mics which was a bit awkward for everyone, but Moon Hooch did what any good band would do and followed up these couple of moments with some of the best moments I've ever heard in over a decade of seeing them live. They closed their set with a new song titled "Moonrise" to be released on a new album soon, which is definitely worth a listen. Back in December I took my friend Josh to Moon Hooch for the first time and he had a blast, and was psyched to make it out again with him for this show. Slices at Antonio's beforehand was a bonus highlight. Looking forward to the next time Moon Hooch comes around!
