#弾いてみた Folks! Finally, Mina is back! No, we don't give up despite the hard drive is still at the shop. Of course they have ways to bring it back to live but hey, old dad here ain't got no deep pocket! Will see what happens. Yes, we had to re-do this song as all previous sound tracks we had prepared cannot be retrieved. I asked Mina to prepare this song for our upcoming gigs and she came up with this idea of doing it as a one-girl-band here first. Yes, she needs a bit of time to take care of the vocal part she claims. I think she is trying to make me sing instead, and I did! Just in case you ask where I have been hiding, take a listen and you will find traces of me. hahaha! This song called "Asa Made Odorou" (cover) literally means "keep on dancing". Wikipedia says the song is a rock song written by Allen A. Jones, Andrew Love and Richard Shann, originally recorded by the U.S. R&B group, and The Avantis (not the surf rock band with the same name but another one) in 1963. However, I personally don't think the version we play sounds like "Keep on Dancing" at all, as Mina and I are only familiar with this version done by George Takabashi and his band called "Trouble" in the early 80s. I can listen to it all day long as it is just soooo cool!!! It's from the early 80s, possibly 1982 or 83 but I could be wrong, because I wasn't born yet. Ok, no one believes me, thank you very much. hahaha! Anyways, Mina didn't get any homework for the summer so she gave herself a one-girl-band homework, playing all instruments for this instrumental version of the song. No, she didn't get a B, because old dad was doing all the video-editting, not to mention she didn't sing. I hope we can do this song live (with singing) in our upcoming gigs.
