Antiques Shopping at the Grande Brocante de Chambord, the wettest brocante in France, hosted at the iconic Château de Chambord in the beautiful Loire Valley. Our journey took us over 500 miles from England, across the English Channel, and through the French Autoroutes around Paris, finally arriving in the enchanting valley of châteaux. As professional antique pickers, we are always keen to start buying early, and this time it paid off. Torrential rain began around 9:30 AM, dampening spirits and leading many stall owners to cover up their wares. Fortunately, we had already discovered some fantastic French pieces before the downpour. The quality of the sellers at this annual brocante is exceptional, and we narrowly missed chatting with Stephanie and Philip from Château Diaries. Come along and experience this unique treasure hunt with us!
