"Malaguena" by E. Lecouna - a rousing performance on bayan by Freidrich Lips

Here's another landmark performance by maestro Freidrich Lips from the Soviet era. The late Joe Spano said to me, "The bayan produces a great sound, but lacks in visual aesthetics using only 4 fingers (no thumb)." Mr. Lips' interpretation is very exciting & original, & although bayan may not be as visually gratifying as the accordion, I think the sound it produces more than makes up for it. "Malaguena" is the 6th piece in the Cuban composer Lecouna's famous "Andalusia Suite." Special thanks to Anatoly Morozov for making this valuable video available for public enjoyment.
