Cordero Zuckerman - YAS6 Challenge 3 "Sound Affects" (Red Shoes)

The third challenge for Season 6 of the Young Artist Showcase looks at how everyday sounds affect our lives. The challenge was to examine movement based on the sounds we hear and create a moment in time. I decided to take a risk with this piece and choreograph to a spoken word piece by slam poet Elliot Darrow melded with sound effects. Not to be confused with Hanz Christensen's "Red Shoes," Elliot maps out 5 reasons why he likes to where red shoes giving me an opportunity to create 5 different scenes using his words. I tried to emphasize the skates and footwork in this piece which posed a challenge but made for a fun time. Hope you enjoy it!
