In this video I show how to quickly install a Tetra Whisper IQ 30 Fish Filter and give a brief unbiased review. That is why I named this video "Tetra Whisper IQ 30 Fish Filter Quick Start Instructions and Brief Unbiased Review". First I unbox the aquarium filter. Then I provide screen shots of all of the instructions in case you lost your instructions. Then I assemble the filter with easy step by step instructions. Make sure you have a fish tank lid with at least a 7 inch by 3.5 inch hole in the top before you start. You must also have 3 inches clearance behind your fish tank. The filter is a little less than‏ : ‎ 7 x 7 x 9 inches. The model number ‏ is 78002. The Tetra Whisper IQ is a nice filter for a low price and it cleans the fish water well. It is a quiet fish filter. My fish live longer than their average life spans and that is why I believe the Tetra Whisper IQ 30 Fish Filter is one of the top 10 fish filters of all time in my opinion. I have many years of expert level experience with aquariums. That's why I can say with confidence that this filter has a great water filter / cartridge that is easy to clean and change. The water flow adds oxygen which is good for the fish. I recommend getting live plants as well to help reduce nitrates and add oxygen. I also use Tetra Aqua Safe that removes chlorine and makes tap water safe and provides a protective coating on the fish. I am not affiliated with any vendor so the products I use are based on my own preferred unbiased products based on my many years in managing aquariums. The most important thing and my secret to keeping my fish alive for over 10 years is frequent water changes. I change the water twice a month. I don't change all of the water just about 40 percent because there is good bacteria in the older water that actually keep the tank and fish in a healthy natural balance. The filter is self-priming so you plug it in and it starts working. Just make sure you have a drip loop in your power cord so no water ever drips into your electric outlet. Safety should always come first. It has an adjustable intake tube for different lengths and the motor stays under water. It has an adjustable flow rate from low flow up to 175 gallons of water per hour. It works with both freshwater and marine fish but do not use this filter if you have tiny frogs because their legs get stuck in the slits.. This filter is designed for 30 gallon tanks but they make other models for bigger and smaller tanks. If you have any questions let me know.
