Join me on this journey, where I start painting over something not knowing what will come out of it. I used the under painting of a portriat I started to launch off of, and arrrived at an abstract painting, in which I then saw had flowers in a vase possibilities, so I enhanced that idea. It's all about seeing shapes, and making them interesting to hold the viewers attention, using the usual things; design/composition, tonal value, color, shape and texture. Also, contrast busy areas with quiet areas, line with painterly areas, loud splashes etc. Use a composition that allows the eye to make sense of the painting without getting confused.
