The Cowlitz River is always an awesome experience. I back bounced Herring, my signature cured eggs, and tossed spinners. The surprise catch of a lifetime came from one of the locations I frequent this time of year. A small but deep hole that is very difficult to fish due to the current. I was looking for a Springer Salmon but what I caught will surely be as much of a surprise to you as it was to me.
