19.02.2021 Cascade Saddle, 6 months ago I could have not imagine to be a confident enough tramper to attempt this route. But a Weekend with perfect conditions made it possible. By far one of my favorite hikes! I accessed this hike from the Raspberry Creek Carpark in the Matukituki Valley and came out at Chinamans Bluff after crossing the Cascade Saddle and going down the Dart Valley. I stayed one night in the Aspiring Hut and one in the Dart Hut with a Backcountry Hut Pass so in total it took me 3 days. Going up the Saddle should only done with good physical form and perfect condition.
