His army of 9,000 troops marched from Suwa to Busra and captured all the areas between these two locations. Four Muslim armies - led by Abu Ubaidah ibn al-Jarrah, Shurahbil ibn Hasana, Yazid ibn Abi Sufyan and Amr ibn al-As - were conquering Syria at that time. However, a large Roman force based at Ajnadyan threatened these Muslim armies. Khalid (R.A) assumed overall command of the Muslim forces in Syria. Then he fought the Romans at Ajnadayn. It was the first major battle between the Romans and the Muslims. What was the outcome of this battle?
