Yosuke Onuma new album "GNJ" (日本語は英語の後にあります) Guitarist Yosuke Onuma made his impressive debut with album nu jazz in 2001 from Sony Music Japan. Ever since, he has established his profile as the most popular guitarist in the Japanese jazz scene, with his fascinating guitar sound that reaches way beyond the realm of jazz, his undisputedly solid technique and his charming personality that anyone cannot but love. GNJ, his first album in four years, is also his first from T5Jazz Records. The title is the abbreviation of “Green Note Jazz”. “Green Note” is term coined by Onuma himself, combining the jazz term “blue note” with the organic and natural sound that he has been aware of in recent years. The title implies his intention to stay conscious on jazz, his starting point, more than ever, while evolving from his debut album nu jazz – to make another fresh start from his roots as he turns 40 this year.
