Maude Latour: Sanctum Sessions (Live at The Harvard Advocate)

On Saturday, April 16th, Maude Latour visited the sanctum of The Harvard Advocate for a stripped down performance of a few of her songs — including a first look at the then-un-released single "Trees." Maude played to an over-filled house of students, alongside Max Talay on guitar and Dave Scalia on drums, who built a kit out of pistachios, pillows, and old books. After, she stayed back to chat about making music, writing about heartbreak, all while a college student (she just graduated from Columbia). In her own words: "singing these songs, I realize they're really about falling in love on a college campus in a really nerdy way." We filmed and recorded the whole thing, as the second show in our Sanctum Sessions series. Sanctum Sessions is The Harvard Advocate's live, living room concert series. We invite musicians (who are also students) to perform stripped-down sets in the sanctum of our house. Then, post-show, we talk about music and art over coffee and wine. We record the whole thing.
