Streets of Rage Remake v5.1 - SoR1 Route, Mania 1CC (Roo)

Wherein a green kangaroo takes down a crime boss. The SoR1 route is really difficult. Those karate guys are honestly some of the nastier enemies in the game with those jump kicks, and having Garcias pull out knives on you is nasty. Also, three fights against the Barbarian wrestlers is absolutely brutal. But for Roo, because there's so many one on one boss fights or enemies you can just slowly lure out, the hardest part of the game ended up being the last part of the game when the SoR3 version enemies show up in swarms. They recover from knockdown ridiculously fast and thus it is insanely hard to keep them under control. It also helped that I discovered the SoR1 whip ladies, unlike the SoR2 and SoR3 versions, have no wakeup invulnerability from their kneeling pose. They try to whip you as they stand, but you can grab them or hit them out of it safely. The sliding enemies have smaller hitboxes than their SoR2 counterparts, but are less dangerous than the SoR3 versions. Basically every boss on this route can be trivialized with Roo's back attack. He's normally a low tier character, but he has a gimmick in that in one on one boss fights, he's top tier, with a spammable unblockable attack that reliably stunlocks. Jets are always bad news though, as are the SoR3 versions of Onihime and Yasha. The SoR1 versions where they're Blaze clones have no wakeup invulnerability though, so they are easy to deal with by blitzing them as they stand up. SoR2 route enemies are generally easier to deal with, and the SoR2 route has a lot more resources, so that balances out the several difficult sections it has such as three elevator fights (two of which have disabled normal police specials), as well as two Abadede wrestler fights, one of which shows up with kickboxers. Although the karate guys in SoR1 are obnoxious to deal with, this route is practically designed around Roo's moveset. You fight the wrestler three times, you have the robot to fight in the factory, you have a ton of one on one fights in the last level... it's actually a lot more manageable than the short but absolutely brutal set of elevator fights at the very end of SoR2. I'm playing with a soundtrack pack that replaces most of the Remake music with the original game music: http://www.sorrcommunity.com/t589-ori...
