The follow-up comes five months after the release of their sophomore EP ‘name of The Seasons.’ Dafne, the main songwriter of this release, shares that the title’s a reference to the phrase “When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.” “This song is about living a given life, looking into one’s hand and praying for a better one.” he adds. The band further displays their flexibility in terms of songwriting and tones it down from their last release to send the track’s message across. At the end of it, cotoba’s hope is to inspire listeners to turn their lemons into orangette. - 전작 EP ‘날씨의 이름’에서 ‘일상과 삶의 치열함’ 다루었기에 이번엔 생의 기쁨과 슬픔, 간절함이 담긴 곡을 만들고 싶었다. 또한 행운의 상징인 오렌지를 모티브로 한 ‘오랑제뜨’로 희망적인 가능성을 표현하였다. 기존 발매 곡과 다른 4/4로 박자를 설정하여 드럼의 다이내믹을 구상하였다. 베이스는 묵직하게 자리하여 드럼과 기타 사이의 균형을 적절히 맞추면서 악곡을 진행시키도록 연주하였고, 일렉기타는 필요한 만큼의 math rock & emo 스타일 아르페지오와 섹션을 첨가하였다. 후반부에서는 많은 양의 공간계, 퍼즈와 디스토션 톤을 이용한 연주와, 노래하는 듯한 기타 라인을 통해 듣는 이의 감정의 울림을 가져올 수 있도록 구상하였다. 성가나 동요처럼 정직한 발음으로 노래하여 넘치지 않는 감정선을 유지하려 노력하였다. 삶이 쥐여준 열매를 레몬(고난)이나 오렌지(행운)로 결정하고 살아가는 것은 오랑제뜨를 듣고 이 글을 읽으시는 각자의 손에 맡긴다. – cotoba 프로듀서/기타리스트 Dafne [CREDIT] cotoba : Dafne 다프네 (Guitar / Producer) DyoN Joo 됸쥬 (Vocal / Guitar) euPhemia 유페미아 (Bass) Marker 마커 (Drums) DjuNaNa 쥬나나 (Percussion) Track 1.
