Country Living and Self Reliance in the Northwoods. Off Grid Homesteading February 2024

A peaceful video of country living. We live in the woods of Northern Wisconsin and homestead our land full time. We're spending our time ice fishing and adding fish to our freezer. We are also taking care of our flock of 11 Icelandic chickens by cleaning the coop and letting them free-range anywhere they want to this week. With this very unusual warm weather, the air is super saturated with the snow melting. The chicken coop got moisture in it and the bedding needed to be cleaned because it started to get some mold on it. The temperatures here are never this warm in February and we're losing our snowpack. We usually have several feet of snow at this time of year. We live off grid and use a hand pump well so when we wash the truck this week we use an interesting method that works well for us for the time being. We hand pump the water into a bucket with a submersible pump. The pump is connected to a hose which goes to our pressure washer, both the submersible pump and pressure washer are powered by our generated. We also clean up our log cabin and take down our winter decorations as it's feeling like spring this week. Thanks so much for watching.
