The Only Watch You Need To Survive | Casio Shock DW5600MS Watch Geeks Tutorial -    • G-Shock module 3229 & 1545 detailed t...   DW5600MS THE EVILSHOCK Apocalypse Watch Picking up the watch the first thing you notice is how incredibly stealthy the 5600MS is. Which is what makes it so great, but also is one of it's downfalls. The watch is stealthy enough to go unnoticed but the negative display with the red numerals can be hard to read in different lighting. That said, when you are trying to stay unnoticed the watch will camouflage extremely well. Aesthetically, the Matte black case mixed with the red numerals is extremely cool in my opinion, theres something about that color combo that makes it look so good. It looks like the regular 5600s evil twin brother and I love it. Which is why I officially nicknamed mine the EvilShock. This is probably the only G Shock I have ever gotten compliments on, even people who really don't like G Shock have mentioned how good the EvilShock looks. Back when the dollar with still considered currency. This watch set you back around $60 which was a bargain for such a watch. During the end times I've seen them trade for amo & a few cans of refried beans so we can still get them for a relative bargin. Let's take a quick look at the history of the DW5600 to fully understand why this watch has become an icon in the horlogy world. The DW5600 was first introduced in 1987. In 1983 Kikou Ibe invented G Shock & released the 5600 after 200 prototypes. The reason he decided to create G Shock was because he had dropped a mechanical watch his Grandfather had given him & as we know mechanical watches are quite fragile so it broke. Mr Ida had a few criterias he wanted to meet, first the watch had to be 100 mt water resistant, it also had to have a 10 year battery life & finally it had to withstand the gravitational drop of 10 meters which is where the name came from. Let's talk about the specifications of the watch. The watch has a case size of 42.8mm which is actually very small considering G Shocks standards, the watch also has a lug to lug which means top to bottom of 42.8mm which pretty much puts this watch at a goldilocks size for any wrist. Finally aiding the comfort of the watch is a case thickness of 13.4mm. This is the most comfortable watch I have ever worn especially when trying to run. The watch weighs a mere 60grams. Pretty much disappearing on your wrist through out the nightfall. I tend to forget I have it on at times. When diving is the only way to escape, you'll be glad to know your Evilshock has 200mt of water resistance so you will bite the dust before the watch does. The watch has G Shocks most basic movement. It has everything you need and nothing you don't. An alarm, a count down timer, a 24 hour stop watch, the time the day and the date. While there are G Shocks out there with more functions, this for me is perfect & there's nothing else I really need beyond these functions. although a worldtimer would be a great addition, its not a necessity for me. I would like to direct you after this video to my good friend over at the Watch Geek channel where he has a full tutorial of this module where you can learn how to fully operate the watch and set it. I highly reccomend checking it out because he makes setting this watch dummy proof or for people too lazy to read the manual like me. I'll have the link down in the comments and the description. While many might mention the Solar verison would be a better choice. Sun isn't always an option in an apocalyptic environment. A 10 year battery life should suffice given that we have very limited time left on this earth.
