During a recent visit to the Buffalo Zoo with her children, Rachael McAvoy captured a unique bonding moment between her five-year-old daughter, Olivia, and a resident of the Gorilla House. The two primates – human and western lowland gorilla – got along famously, the video shows. After Olivia puts her hands against the glass, the ape gives her a fist bump, then a series of high-fives. The gorilla then leads the giggling girl in a fast-paced game of tag. According to McAvoy, the gorilla initiated the play with Olivia, and the fun lasted for over 20 minutes.
