Israeli-born, Paris-based Yaron started out on a promising career as a basketball player on the Israeli national junior team before a serious knee injury quashed his sporting ambitions. He only decided to take up playing the piano, at the age of 16 and his unique method story and sublime improvisation will surprise you. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
