In this video I share my opinion about the pros vs. cons of inpatient PT and outpatient PT. Keep in mind that I am biased and a lot of this information is based on my own personal experience. There are definitely pros and cons of working in each setting! . . inpatient pros: documentation time built in, less patients per day, more medical in nature, more consistent hours, better benefits . . inpatient cons: low level exercises, faster discharge rate, hospital environment . . outpatient pros: manual therapy, advanced exercises, smaller clinic, longer patient progression, more laid back . . outpatient cons: seeing many patients, more documentation volume, less able to take time off, less consistent schedule . .
