** Specifications ** Overall length - entire cane: 94 cm (37 in) - sword: 62 cm (24.4 in) Blade length: 43 cm (17 in) Blade width: 1.2 cm (0.5 in) Blade thickness: 4 mm Weight - entire cane: 557 g (19.6 oz) - sword: 256 g (9 oz) Blade material: Unknown tempered high carbon steel Shaft material: Fiberglass Handle material: Fiberglass and buffalo horn Hilt assembly: Threaded Price: 125 USD ** Pros / Cons ** + Nice looking Steampunk / gentleman's cane + Very affordable, and reasonable functionality for the price + Fairly sturdy blade, bends with hard (ab)use but easy to fix - Pointless button, hard to reach and fails to secure the blade - Mediocre fit, dubious hilt construction - Paint chips easily - Oddly shaped, somewhat awkward finger grooves ** Verdict ** At first I didn't think this sword cane would survive my testing, as it felt somewhat flimsy. But it held up better than expected. The blade is rigid enough to be a good thrusting blade but can flex significantly and tends to bend rather than break. As a self-defense tool I personally wouldn't trust it. It could be lethal no doubt but a determined attacker could grab and control the dull blade, and its light weight makes anything but shallow tip cuts unfeasible. The shaft could be used for striking but it seems that it might break easily.
