THIS STORY: Stuart Pierson was a student at Kenyon College in 1905. He was an aspiring to be a member of the Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity. On October 28, 1905 he was killed by an unscheduled train, after being sent to a railway bridge as part of a hazing ceremony. The stoic angel is seated on the marble gravestone of canning entrepreneur Francis Haserot and his family. Holding an extinguished torch upside-down, it represents a symbol of life extinguished.
