I finally got myself to buy an electric fishing reel. The Tanacom 1000 made by Daiwa. They also have smaller versions of this reel, the 750 and below and also a larger version the Tanacom 1100 bull series. In this video: I have been told that hand spooling an electric reel won't work because people don't have enough tension on the line when winding it on. But after testing it offshore I didn't have any line bite or issues with the line being too loose. So take that world! A solution to loose fishing line on a reel would be to put a weight on the end of the line and then let your line out while you run the boat until all the line has been dragged off your reel and then wind it back it, but this wasn't necessary. I also bought a Daiwa deep drop rod for the reel. The line I put on the reel is 65lb braid line by J-Braid which is also a Daiwa owned company. At the end of the video you will see me testing the rod on my boat. And yes I manage to catch some fish. This is my first time using an electric reel so it was super excited.
