There is a piece of concept art that made me want to make this video and ask the question- do all railguns fire with three stages? These stages are: In stage 1 the projectile assembly is fired. In stage 2 the sabot casing separates as the round leaves the railgun. In stage 3 an airburst of the sub-projectiles maximizes the damage radius. I analyze and breakdown the VFX scenes with railguns to answer this question. I slow down the footage and increase the brightness of the clips as well.
