Scott's Soldiers Episode 62

In this episode I am wrestling with the terms 'rare' and 'limited edition'. While limited edition is a term used by manufacturers to market or draw attention to figures and sets, my opinion is that it means nothing if 100 or 1000 is the quantity discussed. With rare, I think I am not qualified to discern what is rare and what is not. In the absence of quantitative data, the term is speculative, bias and emotive. What is rare today, may be commonplace next year. There are very few figures & sets which are rare for any number of reasons. I would even hesitate to market some of my figures rare without an appraisal from someone in the hobby / industry more qualified than I. A collector & toy soldier maker suggested rarity is the result of scarcity + desirability. That is fair starting point for a discussion. So join me on an exploration of my collection, then take a hard look at yours if this issue is of interest to your toy soldier experience. - 12:51 Image of Private Lawson, Chebucto Greys.
