How to create a city street scene on canvas with acrylics. Full video.

I discovered the Chinese supermarket in the town I’m staying has a surprisingly well stocked art supply section, and well priced. I found these cool Sennelier Abstract 3D Line Acrylic pens, for under 3 euros each, and grabbed a bunch to try out. The canvas here is 50 x 40 cm. I came to paint a beach scene in Espinho, a beautiful long beached coastal town in Portugal, arriving late in the afternoon, to try get ‘shadow light’, but the coastal wind was too heavy to set up a light easel. So after a quick dip in the cold water, I drove back realizing soon the light would be gone, so I made a quick stop at the historic municipal building of the town to paint a scene from imagination. Here I use acrylic paint filled pens as well as brush and activate the line with water and paint . It gives an adrenaline rush to work without any reference or under drawing, you just have to start somewhere and finish somewhere.. The pens easily found online at about the same price I paid.
