My First Solo Back Country Canoe Trip!

I'm so excited to share my first solo back country canoeing adventure! I've been back country canoe tripping for a while now and wanting to branch out to do a solo trip. I had been to Frontenac Provincial Park twice before so it was familiar territory, and it felt like a safe place for me to push myself outside of my comfort zone. I didn't expect this humble little park to wow me as much as it did! From the wildlife, to the weather, to the once in a lifetime opportunity to view a total solar eclipse, I could not have asked for a better experience! As with any back country camping trip, the highs had to be earned and not everything went exactly to plan, but I wouldn't change any of it. I have felt compelled to share my experience because I wanted to raise awareness about a topic that is not well known by the public. I think there is a lot of power in sharing difficult life experiences, no matter what they are. I hope that sharing my story can help even one person. Whether it sparks the idea to get tested for a hereditary cancer gene, or it inspires someone to face a fear related to cancer or not. I have found in life that usually anticipation and fear are the worst part of any difficult experience. Once I make the decision to do something scary, I am almost always glad that I did it, even if it's not right away.
