Kyoto 1 – Northern Kyoto In early April 2024 we went to Kyoto. In this video we visited 3 places in Northern part of Kyoto. - The Kyoto Botanical Garden was founded in 1924 which makes this year is the 100th anniversary. The Japanese have Hanami during the cherry blossom blooming as can be seen in the video. Hanami literally translates to "flower watching" and is an annual celebration of Sakura and springtime. People gather around cherry blossom trees with family and friends to enjoy delicious drinks and food under the beautiful pink trees, often with the petals gently snowing from the branches when in full bloom. - The Kinkaku-ji (Golden Pavilion Temple) is a Zen Buddhist temple in Kyoto. It is one of the most popular buildings in Kyoto, attracting many visitors annually. - The Ryoan-ji (The Temple of the Dragon at Peace aka The Rock Garden) is a Zen temple located in northwest Kyoto. It belongs to the Myōshin-ji school of the Rinzai branch of Zen Buddhism. The 4th temple in this video is Bukko-ji. It’s a small Buddhist temple located near our hotel in Kyoto.
