To enable the driver to enjoy all the benefits of mobile communication during his daily work, it is now possible to conduct phone calls while driving -- without distraction and in compliance with all road traffic regulations. The optional hands-free preparation allows the driver to use an existing or his own mobile phone, all the while offering highest levels of convenience and ease of use. For this purpose, a mounting plate for mobile charging cradles is affixed at an easy-to-reach location in the centre of the instrument panel. Thanks to the integrated Bluetooth interface, compatible mobile phones for which no charging cradle is available can be linked with the vehicle's hands-free system. The phone is operated via the multi-function steering wheel and all information is shown on the vehicle display. The driver's hands remain firmly on the wheel at all times. When using the hands-free system, the driver can even leave his phone in his pocket, thus avoiding the risk of leaving it in the cab when exiting the vehicle. The voice output is performed by the speakers installed in the cab. With the equipment on offer, all facilities required to enable mobile communication in the vehicle, including an external antenna, are available from a single source. This removes the need for an additional workshop visit to have accessories installed.
