Self driving in a Kenyan National Park like Amboseli is a fun and unique experience until your car BREAKS DOWN in the middle of NOWHERE!!! 😡 Welcome to Elephant Country. This week we are visiting Tawi Lodge a wonderful 3 stars Safari Lodge that deserves a 4th star without a doubt. Located a few kilometers from Amboseli National Park, Tawi Lodge which is itself located in its own conservancy, offers an AMAZING view of Mount Kilimanjaro, delicious food (especially the vegetarian options) and a very personalized experience. This is definitely THE PLACE to bring first time visitors in Kenya, Africa. We are fully planning on bringing our family there when they come visit us in Kenya. Elephants, zebras, antelopes and giraffes are frequently visiting the safari camp which has its own waterhole making the stay even more special. Even though this safari lodge offers game drives (as an extra), Amboseli National Park is a very easy park to self drive, even for first timers. (There is always help not too far away if you break down...) We paid 36,200 ksh per night for 2 adult sharing on a Full Board plan.
