Mighty Morphin Power Rangers (Game Gear) Playthrough - NintendoComplete

A playthrough of Sega's 1994 beat 'em up for the Sega Game Gear, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. Played through the story mode on the default difficulty level. Power Rangers for the Game Gear is an interesting hybrid of fighting and beat 'em up game styles. Rita Repulsa is out to screw stuff up again, so after picking whichever of the original "teenagers with attitude" that you want to play as, you take on seven stages that usually begin with beating up a load of Putties, occasionally interrupted by Goldar swooping in to attack, ultimately reaching the featured monster/kaiju. At this point you'll take control of one of the Zord bots and continue the fight as Gunda...I mean, Ultrama...no, that is... a Zord (there we go!), stomping around, punching things, and probably causing a massive amount of collateral damage taking care of business. It's short and easy, but there is a surprising amount of depth to the fighting. There are tons of moves available (some pretty clever engineering there considering that the GG only has 2 action buttons!) and the action moves pretty smoothly at its brisk pace. I didn't care for the music (Sega 8-bit PSG is pretty vomit-worthy in 90% of the games out there), but the graphics look extremely nice, and there are lots of neat cinematics throughout. No doubt it was targeting kids with its low difficulty level and chaotic pace (and the license, of course), but it's definitely an amusing distraction. Thanks for the request, Herron321. I hope you enjoy it! ____ No cheats were used during the recording of this video.
