Recurrent Lower Back Pain? The Research Says… Do This.

Multifidus Activation: The Multifidus muscle is an extremely important lower back stabiliser because it controls spinal joints movement. Research has shown that dysfunction in this muscle is strongly associated with chronic lower back pain. There’s been over 200 studies on this muscle because… scientists have discovered than the Multifidus can actually deactivate (switch off) after a bout of lumbar pain and stay inactive, causing chronic lumbar problems. (You can actually see it in MRIs of people with recurrent low back problems. The muscle atrophies and is replaced by fat in people because of disuse.) Multifidus back pain? Does the Multifidus muscle actually hurt? Is that what causes your chronic back pain? No. The muscle itself doesn't hurt. But Multifidus atrophy causes poor movement and function of the spinal joints, which then leads to spinal joint inflammation, irritation of the facet joints and spinal nerve roots, and generalised muscle spasm in the lower back. So Multifidus exercises, and exercises that strengthen the deep back muscles are the key. Bird Dog Exercises and variations help activate and strengthen the Multifidus muscle so that the spinal joints are protected and the movement becomes controlled again. You don't need to strengthen the big muscles so much as you need to control the little muscles that are right next to the spinal because they are the ones that control spinal movement! So, if you’ve got recurrent low back pain, here’s how to reactivate and strengthen the Multifidus muscle again—with one exercise—to make your back strong and stable again. ---------------------------------------- 7 Great Exercises for Low Back Pain & Stiffness:    • 7 Great Exercises for Low Back Pain &...   The Best Exercises For Scoliosis:    • THE Best Exercises For Scoliosis   How To Fix Neck Hump (Forward Head Posture) & Neck Pain:    • How To Fix Forward Head Posture & Nec...   ---------------------------------------- Say ‘Hi!’ on social media: Facebook:   / bodyfixexercises   Twitter:   / bodyfixexercise   Instagram:   / bodyfixexercises   Linked In:   / 49086519   #bodyfixexercises #backpain #backpainrelief
