After rescuing an adventurer in the mountains and seeing the kindness of Alk and Stella, Ernest sincerely declares that he would like to be their friend. The two of them then welcome Ernest into Starview Village. A Heart of Gold: Ernest and the others come to help a young orphan boy named Johan with gathering ore. Johan and Ernest share a similar scarred past, having both been abandoned by their birth parents. Wanting to tell the boy that he is worthy of happiness, Ernest resolves to show him the same kindness that he himself has received from others. A Shared Feeling: Ernest is contacted by his birth parents, who heard about Ernest working at Voluntas Academy after losing their successor. The orphanage's children defend Ernest against his family's representatives, which inspires Ernest to maintain his relationship with the Academy as well as Alk and co, while also re-establishing a relationship with his birth parents.
