How to do Ashtanga Yoga's Supta Kurmasana | Sleeping Tortoise Pose

Supta Kurmasana often requires patience as you allow your body to deepen into the full expression, but no matter what it looks like for you right now, these tips will help you find ease in the pose. In this video, we’re showing you how to do SUPTA KURMASANA \ SLEEPING TORTOISE POSE from Ashtanga's Primary Series. With vinyasa cues and Sanskrit count, you’ll learn how to move into Kurmasana first then understand how to transition into Supta Kurmasana. We’ll share correct alignment for injury prevention and why it’s important to be able to access the preceding poses before adding this one to your practice. You’ll learn how to approach this pose mindfully when practicing at home alone and some modifications to help your body prepare for the full expression.
