DDA और फॉरेस्ट डिपार्टमेंट ने मिलकर ये कार्रवाई की है. 30 जनवरी की सुबह महरौली इलाके की गलियों में अचानक बड़ी तादाद में दिल्ली पुलिस की तैनाती की गई. जहां संजय वन जो कि कई एकड़ में फैला हुआ है, वहां पर मजहबी जगहों को दिल्ली विकास प्राधिकरण द्वारा तोड़ा गया. संजय वन के इलाके में कई मजार और दरगाह पहले से बने हुए हैं. 30 जनवरी को DDA ने जो डिमोलिशन मुहिम चलाई, उसमें संजय वन के दिल्ली विकास प्राधिकरण की जमीन पर बना मंदिर, दरगाह, कब्रिस्तान को पूरी तरह तोड़ दिया गया. बता दें कि, कुतुबुद्दीन अल्तमश के दौर की मस्जिद है, जिसको जिन्नातों वाली मस्जिद भी कहा जाता है. वहीं इस कार्रवाई की जद में यहां पर लंबे वक्त से चल रहा मदरसा भी आया है. बताया जा रहा है कि सुबह तड़के 4:00 बजे बुलडोजर की कार्रवाई शुरू हुई थी. ख़बर आने के बाद से किसी को भी अंदर जाने की इजाजत नहीं दी गई. यहां तक कि मीडिया को भी 1 किलोमीटर दूर ही रोक दिया गया. इलाके में किसी तरह का आपसी माहौल खराब न हो, इसीलिए दिल्ली पुलिस ने मंगल की सुबह ही बड़ी तादाद में पहुंचकर धार्मिक स्थलों का डिमोलिशन किया.
