篠ノ井線前面展望パート1松本→冠着 <Cabview Japanrail Shinonoi Line> May 2024

The Shinonoi Line is a 66.7km line that connects Shinonoi Station and Shiojiri Station. It was completed 121 years ago (1902) and was originally built as a bypass to connect the Shin-Etsu Main Line and the Chuo Main Line, but today it is now used as a bypass to connect the Shin-Etsu Main Line and the Chuo Main Line. It has a strong character as a line connecting Matsumoto City (north side of Shiojiri Station) and Matsumoto City (north side of Shiojiri Station). The entire line runs through the mountains, and there are also switchback stations along the way (this station will appear in Part 2). Part 1 of this video includes the journey from Matsumoto Station to Kantaku Station on the way. The required time is about 30 minutes. About 35 years ago, the route was changed, the switchback signal station was abolished, and a long tunnel was completed. The inside of the tunnel is not shown in this video.
