Chevy Bolt HeadLamp Replacement (Headlight Lightbulb Headlamps bulb bulbs)

*** Important, read all below, if not, then at least jump to the bottom for an update and links to bulbs and ballasts. ** Make sure to read Gerald's comment below about an alternate method ** Chevy Bolt HeadLamp Lightbulb replacement (headlamps bulb bulbs) Full detail! Take apart and reassembly and bulb installation. I'm so sorry I had camera issues with overheating and quitting so there were many shots I did not capture. Because of fiddling with the camera I did not always get the framing centered around the work topic at hand. Very frustrating. So I pieced together videos of work on the right side of the vehicle and the left side of the vehicle to hopefully show what needs to be done. You'll notice some weird cuts I made in the video which don't seem to flow naturally and that is the reason why. The procedure took me 2hrs 45mins. An hour of that was for camera and thinking thru talking points. After watching this video you should be able to do the job in about 1hr to 1.5hrs. update on 1/3/2024: I purchased some bulbs on 12/4/2021. I finally got around to replacing the bulbs and making this video on 6/21/2022. At first it seemed like I fixed the problem. But then over many months the problem came back. I then researched further and discovered that I should have also replaced the ballasts. Or possibly could have kept the bulbs and only needed to replace the ballasts. What a pain in the ass. I now have to do the whole project all over again. So mad! I decided if I was going to have to tear it all apart again, that I don't care about the cost of the parts, and that I would purchase a set of new bulbs again, but this time do the OEM bulbs, and purchase OEM ballasts. Because mine and your time is valuable I'd advise you to replace both bulbs and both ballasts at the same time, and do the OEM parts, because if something isn't right, you have to spend another 2 to 4 hours and tear apart your car. My first set of bulbs: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07... My 2nd set of bulbs OEM: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07... The ballasts: https://www.gmpartsdirect.com/oem-par... Note that if you search for the OEM ballast that you will also see a part #42529555. This is not the correct part number. It looks similar, and it will even say in the description that it is for cars with Auto-High-Beam. The Bolt does have Auto-High-Beam, but that "auto" functionality is actually in other circuits in the cars logic, but it's not supposed to be in the ballast itself. That is for other models, like the Malibu or Cruze (I think). Anyway, if you decide to order the wrong part, the ordering system will halt and you must contact them because they don't want you to order the wrong part.
