I am addressing a much larger crowd than I’m used to getting 🧍‍♀️ As I already said, there are truly no words to describe how grateful I am to everyone that watches my videos, subscribed, and left all those really nice comments. My only hope is that I can be someone worthy of all your praise. I am going to record a little celebratory video later this week so keep an eye out! Concrete Rose by Angie Thomas was a book that made me remember all the ways in which our circumstances are not always of our own doing. Sometimes you can do all the right things and still never make it out. But other than all the anger and frustration that bubbled up inside me while reading this book, there was hope. A hope that things can change, and get better. That some obstacles are hard to overcome, but not impossible. Of course I won’t buy into toxic positivity and say that if you just have hope then all your dreams will come true. But oftentimes, what separates the concrete rose from others, is the roots. The people that support you along the way. And the support you give yourself to burst through the unforgiving concrete. But, that’s just my perspective. Let me know in the comments what you think!
