Yuen Yat-Chor 袁日初 - actor - action director Born in Hong Kong in 1955, Yuen Yat-Chor 袁日初 studied Beijing Opera 京劇 under his father, Yuen Siu-Tien 袁小田, the legendary Hong Kong Cinema pioneer, father of ten or more children, six of whom have worked (or still work) in the film industry, including the internationally acclaimed director Yuen Woo-Ping 袁和平. In the 70s, Yuen Yat-Chor alongside four of his brothers formed the highly respected Yuen Clan 袁家班, being active in the film industry for several decades as stunt doubles, action choreographers, scriptwriters, directors, agents, and producers. Among the brothers, Yuen Yat-Chor was relatively handsome, so his brothers encouraged him to be the main star in a number of movies. It is said that once Donnie Yen 甄子丹 started working for the Yuen’s, Yuen Yat-Chor took the second and third position from then on.
