Part 6, Corsica Jan's summer in Europe

This is episode 6 of my 3 months in Europe, summer of 2022. We start with a big uphill from Bastia, the port of arrival from Livorno, Italy. The 500 meter hill is a nice welcome. The itinerary is mostly by bike with stays in campgrounds along the west coast, one where the owner has a very large garden to provide fresh veggies for the on site restaurant. He is familiar with permaculture. There are a lot of ups and downs. Some coastal areas with no town for miles, and then biking is small urban areas such as Calvi where I stayed 2 nights. The slide show includes stunning views of the Med from twisting roads with few cars to biking through small towns with streets lined by palms and oleanders. There is architecture, some many hundreds of years old. One morning was a storm with rain, lightning and gusty winds. Then later, Le Calanche in bright sunshine. I revisit places from a previous bike ride 40 years ago and stay 5 days where I had painted one of my first murals 40 years ago, painting a new small mural for the new owner, while making friends from all over Europe. We visit Walter and Noella, who owned that campground up untill 5 years ago. We see the oldest known mural I have painted ever, near Calcotoggio. This episode ends in Bonifacio and the ferry to Sardegna.
