These include seasonal changes that provide a lot of shade in summer and open canopies in winter to let the winter sun rays through; seasonal changes in appearance from beautiful spring greenery to a show of autumn colours and winter bareness; to provide an abundance of mulch that can be used to create leaf mulch compost for the homestead or mulch in the vegetable garden. In additional to that these trees get really large, which will bring in a range of birds and other animals that will greatly benefit the overall ecosystem we are trying to build on the homestead.
