Indie Music Route in India | Kavish Seth | TEDxSomaiyaVidyavihar

Kavish Seth is an independent artist, singer, songwriter, poet who writes primarily in Hindustani. This IIT Bombay alumnus studied chemistry when he first thought of starting his own musical journey by writing songs and planning to cut an album. When Kavish felt the need of finding his own sound and thus connecting with people, he invented his own instrument, Noori, which was born two years ago as a hybrid 14-stringed instrument shaped like a guitar, but with a wooden frame covered in goat skin to produce percussive sounds like those of a djembe. His project, Zubaan, is a musical project started by him where several independent artists from different musical linguistic scenes from across India, come together, collaborate and perform across the mainlands. He has not only collaborated with famous artists of their respective areas but also looked out for talented people even if they're farmers or fishermen, and provided them a stage to let people be acquainted with different forms and languages of music.
