This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. It's hard to comprehend the amount of plastic waste humans produce every single day. But the impact is impossible to ignore. However, the answer is not recycling -- it's reuse. Irene Rompa studied organizational psychology at VU University Amsterdam, but soon realized that while she loved her studies, what really makes her happy is improving the world. Over the last few years, Irene has initiated and worked on different projects that create awareness around the issue of sustainability. About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event.
